Welcome at Home Has a new family moved into your neighborhood? Give them an Emergency Contact Card
If you have had new neighbors move into your neighborhood you may have already introduced yourself and your family. If not, it isn't too late to stop over there and personally welcome them to the neighborhood.
It is nice if you have a reason for stopping by. Something that your neighbor will really appreciate is if you will give them a Emergency Phone Card that they can keep near their phone. You might want to give them a few copies so that they can keep them by each phone. We have attached a copy that you can print off your printer. It is great if you can print it on a bit heavier paper, or card stock, but even if it is just on paper it can be helpful for your neighbors. If your new neighbor has young children they will also appreciate the babysitter guide that is also included with the Emergency Phone Card. It is helpful to have a neighbor's phone number and a description of the house near your phone in case there is something unusual to report to the police about your neighbor's home, or in case someone is babysitting at your house and needs some assistance. Our free Emergency card is great to tape onto the inside of a cupboard door to make sure that help is always near. If you are able to fill out the form with your neighbor's information before you give it to your new neighbor, they will feel really welcomed!
Feel free to print off enough cards to put by each of your phones and any of the other friends or neighbors in your block.
