Welcome at Church
Starting Relationships with New Visitors
Be the First Friend!

Do you recognize every person sitting in your pew today?  If not, you’re not alone.  With the increasing sizes of some of today’s congregations, it’s tough to get to know everyone you see at church.

You don’t recognize anyone, yet many people are talking to each other and seem to know everyone else. Would it be up to you to introduce yourself and make friends, or would there be people in your church ready to greet you with a friendly smile and spend some time getting to know you?  Many long-time church members don’t realize how difficult searching for a church can be.

Visitors only get one chance a week to try out a church and decide whether or not it may be a place where they would like to call home.   If their first experience at your church isn't a good one, chances are good that they will never come back.  Worse yet, they may give up altogether and decide that it’s easier to stay home on Sunday than to struggle their way into a tight-knit church family.

Attached you will find a series of bulletin or Church program inserts.  We hope it will also assist your church members in becoming a “FIRST FRIEND.”  We provide this as a free service to your church because we help families who are moving.  We have talked to many families over the years and they have helped us realize that churches can help make a move to a new community a very positive experience.

The next time you notice an unfamiliar face in the crowd, make a point to say hello.  Its easy to introduce yourself and say “Welcome” and that may be all it takes to make someone feel at home.  Who knows, you may end up with a new friend yourself
